The manually renewed vehicles should NOT go to depot loaded. From that moment I'll start to send them to depot for upgrade. Then I'll resume the game until I'll start getting messages about aged 727's. When I get the message about B-1021 availability, I'll pause the game, select all 727's and reset Autorenew to OFF for all of them, one by one. So, when I buy B-727, I set it "Autorenew" checkbox to ON. Then start to upgrade them to that new model. I want all B-727 planes to be automatically renewed until B-1021 will become available. The only these vehicles should send messages to player when getting aged, so the player can decide - activate autorenew, or send vehicle to depot for upgrade.
#Openttd auto replace old vehicles manual#
If it is set to OFF, then the vehicle is a subject for manual replacement (upgrade) when the time comes. If it is set to ON, the vehicle should be renewed automatically in silent mode to same model, not disturbing the player with these annoying messages about getting old (besides, with a lot of vehicles in game, these messages are simply disappearing instantly, and supplemental beeps converting to constant chaotic noise while you loosing your mind from that cacophony). The vehicle control window should have the "Autorenew" checkbox, which could be switched to ON or OFF. "Autorenew" should be the unique property of every single vehicle and NOT the whole vehicle set.You actually left with 2 choices:ġ)Set Autorenew to ON and generally loose any ability to upgrade required vehicles in time, orĢ) Set it to OFF and let the game to pass over while trying to manage the whole vehicle set manually. The current autorenew function leads to total chaos when you have hundreds vehicles in game.
